Island Fever
Acrylic, enamel, charcoal and oil stick on canvas
153 × 142 cm
Island Fever captures the escapism and irreverent energy at the heart of Jakey Pedro’s practice. Palm trees, saturated colour and loosely rendered forms collide in a playful imagined landscape that sits somewhere between tropical paradise and fever dream.
Working instinctively across layers of acrylic, enamel, charcoal and oil stick, Pedro combines raw mark-making with bold colour and recurring symbols to create a work that feels spontaneous, energetic and distinctly his own.
At over 1.5 metres, Island Fever is a vibrant statement work with serious presence.
