TROUBLE IN PARADISE

Trouble in Paradise brings together the humour, irreverence and bold visual language that runs through Jakey Pedro’s practice.

Against an idyllic tropical backdrop, a glamorous figure lounges alongside a shark — an unexpected collision of beauty and danger that gives the work its playful tension. Pedro combines saturated colour, graphic imagery and loose, instinctive mark-making to create his own offbeat version of paradise.

Playful, provocative and larger than life, Trouble in Paradise is a major statement work with unmistakable presence.
